The arrival of BB Mousey- Caitlyn Kho

Mummy's instinct is always right... BB Mousey also decided to come out after Daddy Mousey and Mummy Snake decided her English Name- Caitlyn, meaning Pure Beauty.

Our little princess, Mousey- Caitlyn has arrived into the world on a beautiful Tuesday morning, 14 Oct 2008 @ 0946hr, weighs 2960gram, head circumference of 33cm and length of 50cm.

Here is the labour story:

The excitment starts at 2am+, having contraction (which I think shall be) at interval of 8 to 20 mins.

0300hr: More excitments and regular contraction at an interval of 10 mins apart... I woke Daddy mousey, telling him that I'm having regular contraction but would like to monitor for another half an hour before any other action

0330hr: I think today would be the day. So decided to get out of the bed, woke Daddy mousey up. I went to have my shower and sat in the living room waiting for Daddy mousey to shower and get ready to the hospital.

0530hr: We arrived at Mount Alvernia and went straight to the delivery suite. My weight was taken and was brought to delivery suite 7. Down the delivery suite, there's this lady screaming and screaming.

0545hr: Was strapped to CTG to check the contraction and after a while, was asked to change into the hospital gown. Then was strapped to CTG again and cervic was checked. Only 2cm dilated. Given anema to clear bowel too.

0600hr: Nurse was instructed by Dr Fong to broke my waterbag to check. Whoops... gush of water came out and it kept flowing. The nurse even commented, wow, so much water, got fortune leh...

0800hr: Dr Fong arrived. He checked my cervic and mentioned only 3cm dilated. He wanted to speed up the process and put me on drip. He mentioned, shall be able to delivered in the afternoon.

0830hr: Another nurse came in to explain all the pain relieve. And since I knew the delivery will only take place in afternoon, I decided to ask for epidural.

0900hr: Contraction getting more and more and the nurse saw me in distress and decided to check my cervic again. And she then said, you are ready to deliver. I was like har, this is not a joke, I yet to get my epidural leh. The nurses took my gas away and taught me how to push, just like constipation... pushes with all your energy.

0920hr: Dr Fong arrived and even commented luckily he yet to step into the clinic. I was like har, I want to deliver now and still talk to me.

0946hr: After a few pushes guided by the nurses, I delivered BB Caitlyn safely into the world. The 1st thing I couldn't believe was I made it without any pain relieve and thanks Caitlyn for helping Mummy Snake and Daddy Mouse saved on the epidural too. We definitely love you.

BB Mousey @ 38 weeks

We visited Dr Fong on 11 Oct, Sat... Ganna cervic check to see whether BB Mousey is ready to come out. Too bad, cervic is still closed... More shopping... so when will be the day... But my sixth sense is telling me, BB mousey will probably be out by next week...

The next appointment will be 18 Oct... Hopefully, by then, I've already carried BB mousey in my hand.

Monday, 13 Oct, I got this feeling, I felt BB mousey shall be out anytime, either 14, 15 or 16... Was it a mummy sense??? I know will be before 18 Oct or even before the EDD...

Let's see... Keep you people update again

BB mousey @ 36- 37 weeks

BB mousey has grown real fast, she's already at her 37 weeks as till date and has been actively punching and showing discomfort in Mummy Snake's tummy.

She's also been pressing on Mummy Snake's pelvic, making her ouch here and there every times Mummy Snake moved. I know anytime now, but I kept telling bb mousey must wait for Aunty Silfi to come in first else we'll have a hardtime handling you.

Everything is almost ready (I think), nothing last minutes I hope.

We'll be seeing BB mousey this Sat, 11 Oct... And hope everything is good and ready and Mummy snake also hope by then, Aunty will be here too.

Anxiety, waiting and waiting is what Mummy Snake is going thru now. Now Mummy Snake understands what's the 3rd trimester is like especially at this last hurdle. Sleepness night, hardening of stomach at times (false BH), painful walks, tiredness (extreme, even worst than 1st trimester), being punched at tummy by BB mousey etc etc... all these makes Mummy Snake sometimes feel mad.. :(

Anyway, we just have to wait and wait and hope BB mousey listens to Mummy Snake, be good and out when Aunty is here... :)
